MANILA – Institute for Labor Studies representative Mr. Bernard Paul M. Mangulabnan, Officer-In-Charge and Chief Labor and Employment Officer of the Employment Research Division, served as one of the resource speakers for the E-Forum on Greening the TVET System: Green Initiatives for Greening the Economy held last October 17-18, via Zoom online conference.

The two-day event was attended by various government agencies to discuss and present their programs for pertinent topics and initiatives on greening the economy such as green policies, solid waste management and green practices, sustainable transport, and clean energy.

Mr. Mangulabnan was the first speaker in the forum to discuss the topic of the National Green Jobs Human Resource Development Plan (NGJHRDP), one of the policies that need to be championed in initiating the overall creation of green jobs in our country.

He pointed out the important vision and role of the Institute in aligning the government efforts to transition to green economy by ensuring that workers’ rights and welfare are not compromised by creating designs and systems that are incentivized or funded in human resource processes. Through this effort, possible challenges in transition to green jobs can be mitigated, and opportunities will be enhanced in securing a green economy for all.
