Being a policy research and advocacy arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is also a training ground for students who stand to pursue a career in public policy research and development work.
At ILS, student interns / on-the-job trainees are given a chance to learn and participate in the various online projects, fora and advocacies, along with administrative, finance, human resources duties, graphic design and IT support services.
